The Little Mermaid -- Feb 17 and 18

The Little Mermaid will be performed Friday evening, Feb 17 and Saturday afternoon, Feb 18. It will be at Jennie Anderson Theater in Cobb County.

I'm in the show; plus, I made the mermens' costumes. They don't look like Aquaman or Mer-man, and they don't wear mermaid fins either. So, come see the tons of work I put into designing and building four merman costumes and one sea king costume. I've been wrestling with vinyl and porch screen since December to make these costumes. Of course, the show isn't about just coming to see mermen. It's an entire show much more significant than my five costumes. I'm just one person who put a ton of hours into this. There are many others who have done so also.

Last time I checked the cast list, the same ballet dancer who played the Glove Seller in Gaite Parisienne will be playing the Sea Witch in this production. The man who played the Peruvian in Gaite Parisienne is the crab.

I've regretted not mentioning Gaite Parisienne here before we did that show because it turned out great. I'm here now to tell ya Little Mermaid is coming.

This is a show for everybody. It's not a recital for friends & family of the performers. It's not a little-girls-only show. Boys/guys are gonna like the show too. It's a real "all ages" show... nowhere near being strictly a kiddy show like Mother Goose is.

Anderson Theater is one of the Cobb Civic Center buildings on S. Marietta Pkwy. All you do is exit I-75 at Exit 263 & go west for 2.4 miles. That's all... just one road off the Interstate. Once you see Fairground Street, you're there. It has a very large parking lot right in front of the entrance. It couldn't be any more convenient. This theater is a breeze compared to anything you've ever attended inside Atlanta. There are many reasons KDT spends the money required to do shows at Anderson Theater, and the convenient location is one of them. It's an extremely nice theater inside and out.

Cobb Dance Academy is the headquarters. They can tell you show times for Feb 17 and Feb 18, and I'll be back to write the times here myself. Their number is 770 218-2677.... dance schools usually operate in afternoon hours 3 pm to 9 pm.

It was a success. Both shows had large audiences, and all of the performers and the production staff put on flawless shows.

My merman costumes... :D

The sea king costume:

There were two green corps mermen and two blue, so it ended up being five mermen all total:

I was one of the blue dudes. These mermen will most likely be modified, more detailed, and different colors if the show is done again in the future.
